INVITE HAÏDOUTI ORKESTAR

At the beginning of everything, people are migrating. From India to eastern Europe, from southern Mexico to northern United States, from Sub-Saharan Africa to western Africa, from black Africa to Brazil, from northern Africa to Europe, everywhere, all the time, and since always, it is foreign people crossing each other’s paths that build culture’s tomorrow. These crossings are not always that easy, the stranger is always feared, the different types of music emerging from these meetings are at once soothing, nostalgic, festive but also rebellious. Each phrase, each melody becomes an hymn, an hymn to displaced people, an hymn to time, an hymn to “moving” spaces, and an hymn to humans that must love each other despite their differences. After almost ten years of collaboration, I had the desire to do a short summer tour with the Haïdouti Orkestar, made of musicians coming from everywhere in Europe, eastern Europe, Northern Africa, Northern Europe, Andalucia, Middle-East...
