-M-

Lettre Infinie

Here at Les Nuits, -M- feels at home. Each of his appearances marks the festival’s history.

Do you remember back in 2000, when for the first time he spread his love with an “aime” ?

Did you see him in 2010, dancing with shadows as a mystery man dressed in black and white ? Or in 2013 with his loony spectacles and indigo mojo ? Here at Les Nuits, -M- feels at home. Each of his appearances marks the festival’s history. He even came surrounded by his family in 2015, with Louis, Anna and Joseph. Then with a troupe, in 2017, alongside Toumani and Sidki Diabaté to present Lamomali for the first time. A few months later, the project received a Victoire de la Musique. So you can rightfully guess that his most recent album, Lettre Infinie, keeps spinning in our stereo. With this sixth solo album, the first one in seven years, Mathieu Chedid becomes -M- again with all the groove, the grace and cleverness his pseudonym implies, more eco-friendly than ever, and as always inspired by “those small soaring bits of happiness...”.
There we soar.
